Saturn Square natal North Node This is a challenging position because not only is Saturn making a Square to the North Node, it is also making a Square to the South Node.  The area of life affected by Saturn will depend on the house placement of your North and South Node in the natal Astrology chart. Also, you should check which house Saturn is transiting through as well as Natal Saturn’s position and the aspects to it. This will give you all the information you need when it comes to deciphering what this time might produce.    If, by chance, you have Transiting Saturn also in Opposition to a another planet in your natal chart,  you now have a Grand Cross which is far more difficult than just the Squares to the Nodes.  We will look at this Grand Cross at a later date. It should be noted that a Square is most definitely a difficult aspect, but because of its intensity, it also provides enough energy to push you to work your way through the adversity.  Challenges within the chart are put in place for us to overcome and in turn gain insight and valuable information and experience.   The Nodes are often tied to our path ahead, the road to follow (North Node) and what we have brought with us to make this task easier (South Node).  These nodes can also represent important people that help us along the way, when activated through transits and progressions.  Saturn has to do with challenges and life lessons. There are times in life when we are sure about something and then only to find out that we were mistaken.   It may be difficult to admit when we are wrong; but we are human, and we do and will make mistakes.  Don’t hold on to this.    It's okay to be wrong Some individuals unfortunately continue the debate or argument even after they realize they were mistaken.  They struggle with their ego without recognizing that it is this very thing (ego) that is tormenting them.   It’s important to admit that we are human and make mistakes.  This does not make us any less of a person or a failure in any way.  Admitting an error actually reflects maturity.   We are all human and will make mistakes or believe we are right from time to time and then find out that we were wrong. We cannot emphasize enough the impact of our attitude on our life’s experience.  Life happens (both hard and heart-filled lessons) no exceptions.  Challenging lessons present themselves from time to time, and we can’t ignore them or persuade them to just disappear.  They are part of our life, and we must learn the lesson and deal with them accordingly. This is how we grow and mature.   We live in our own corner of the world within our family unit. This family unit may be blood related or a chosen family of friends.  We are influenced by what goes on around us and for some individuals, this influence can be overwhelming at times.  Then on top of what we are surrounded by, we have our own internal struggles. Some individuals cannot admit to these struggles or talk openly about them and others are quite open to sharing their emotional struggles.    Destroyer of Peace Our minds race back and forth each day making judgements and analyzing all that we are experiencing.  It would be interesting to see how many contradictory thoughts we experience in a day, never mind a year or a lifetime.    Our mind will tell us whatever is convenient and productive to its thinking in the moment. There is constant and continual mental dialog. For many of us, because our mind has control over us, for every action and thought there is also a reaction. This is why we should continually remind ourselves that we are not our thoughts. We are the spectators listening to them. As a result, we can choose which thoughts to act upon and which ones we can allow to pass us by without owning them or reacting to them.   We can be swept away by life events from time to time. We tire because we are human, and humans make mistakes. These mistakes, however, are valuable learning tools.  We cannot change things once they have happened (such as our reactions) but we can regain control once we recognize our reaction and move forward accordingly. The lesson is to keep going and each time an event happens, your reactions will be less and less until one day, you can stop the reaction before it takes place.     Life is in your hands; it always has been.    Reaction, instead of controlled response, is a destroyer of peace. Will you start taking responsibility? Don’t be swept away by your mind’s chatter. Be the spectator to its babbling. Where does inspiration stem from?    I believe inspiration is something that resides within us all and when sparked by outside sources or from within will open doors that many who are uninspired feel were closed to their perception or remain untapped due to belief structures.   You could say that this post is inspired by my inner self (just as available to each of us) and by outside sources that have had a hand in my writing.  Source of Inspiration Inspiration is a part of everyday experiences, and it reveals itself through many different channels.  It reverberates through the thinking process and through the feeling senses and culminates on one level or another and echoes through communication.    Remember we are all of one energy and because of this, we all share insights and intuitive feedback.   To activate this innate ability, you can begin to write and allow the words to flow with or without your mind’s input. We can receive information from outside sources simply by allowing and being open. This is active through open communication and interaction from places found deep within each and every one of us.    Interlinking is common in the human psyche.  We share common elements and can relay messages on different platforms through intentional interchange and open dialogue.   Believe. Be open and acknowledge that you are not alone in your ventures.  On many levels, you share your story with others, including those that are not seen.    Perhaps the inspiration behind this post and the way it is written is due to the fact that our daughter passed over some ten years on the day it was written. Perhaps the channels are more open today. Perhaps, I have allowed a more open channel permitting the interchange of ideas with her today. Today, December 30, 2024, there will be a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn at 9°.  For those with their Sun within 3° of the 9° position in Capricorn or between 6° to 12° in Cancer, this post will be significant for you.    New Moon December 30, 2024 The Sun in Capricorn will make a conjunction and the Sun in Cancer will make an opposition to this New Moon. These two aspects are the most important aspects when speaking about the Moon’s cycles (New and Full Moon).  The Conjunction will be the stronger of the two.   The New Moon signals the beginning of a new stages or focus and we will focus more on the conjunction with this post.  This is the planning phase and the initiation of whatever you decide to move forward with.  In Capricorn, this might have something to do with business although much will depend on the houses involved in your personal chart.  It could focus on business regarding marriage (7th), family (4th), career (10), etc.    This is the time to set your goals. Be ambitious to ensure that your intensions reach fruition.  In six months from now when the Full Moon is in Capricorn, you will reap the rewards of whatever effort you expended, so make sure you implement full effort in whatever you set out to achieve.   Capricorn has to do with diligent effort and knowing that it takes some time to reach our summit. Have patience and perseverance even if there seems to be setbacks or time delays along the way.  Your efforts will be rewarded.   Transiting Saturn makes a wide Sextile to this position at 14° Pisces and transiting Jupiter makes a quincunx to this position at 13° Gemini.  Both placements will assist the process and Saturn, although it always implies that you will have to work hard to reach your objectives, provides security and stability once you reach your goal.    Jupiter, although in quincunx, suggests that you may have to make some alterations along the way.  Adjustments are likely but with Jupiter the chances of success are greater.  Jupiter can make things flow more easily and create opportunities that may not otherwise have been in place.   You may be able to do this on your own, but assistance from those in authority will never hurt.    The rest of the chart will have to be analyzed to confirm if there are other benefits or hindrances also in play.  Keep working towards your goals at this time and don’t let anything stand in the way. There are periods in life where we just need some down time to recharge after life’s lessons.  These are times where we recuperate, contemplate and heal.    Life can be very unpredictable, and we are uncertain, at times, where we might be heading.  This can create stress and even trauma and disease.   Hope Some have the courage to reach out for help, some have the ability to go within to find resolutions to life’s lessons and some resist the lessons and essential stagnate.    Some people may look for causes and want to lay blame while others put the blame on themselves and feel ashamed or left wondering why.    The why may not be nearly as important as the growth that we experience if we work with the lessons presented. We search for the best approach when dealing with life’s challenges.  Some surrender to the lesson and feel much more at ease because of this acceptance while others surrender because they feel that they are at the mercy of life and any hope of recovery seems distant.   Life moves us in different directions from time to time and we need to find ways to learn the lesson and then let go as this is part of the recovery from these events.  We do learn from these times but, yes, sometimes the lessons are not pleasant, to say the least.  All things happen for a reason. The reason may not always be understood from our human perspective. Letting go and moving ahead is our best approach.  Fighting the process of the lesson can set us back and sometimes there is literally nothing that can be done about the situation. The only solution is to let go and accept. In doing so we allow ourselves to move forward.   Recovery from extreme lessons does not happen in a day. Even during recovery there may be times that we feel that we are falling short of moving beyond the situation. This is only the mind’s interference. No thought is worth holding on to.  Thoughts are meant to be acknowledged and released just like the lessons we are learning.  They are not ours to hold.  Thoughts are fleeting. Our mind can tell us one thing this moment and the complete opposite the next. Setbacks are self inflected and created by our ego.    Acknowledge that you can learn this lesson and move on.  It is a choice. Do the work required. Time does not heal; our practice of letting go is what allows healing. Thought processing and belief structures are the instrument of our healing, growing and developing.    You can’t escape life’s lessons, but you can find the best way to journey through them.  Through life lessons, including the traumatic events, we gain experience, courage, hope and strength. We are in control of our reactions. Saturn Trine Natal North Node Transiting Saturn currently (December 2024) is in the sign of Pisces and will remain in this sign until February, 2026.  Saturn makes a brief stay in Aries from May 25 to August 31, 2025 then returning back to Pisces. Saturn then enters Aries once again in February, 2026 moving forward not returning back to Pisces.  Those with their North Node in either Cancer or Scorpio will be having a trine from Saturn when their natal North Node is within the same degrees as Saturn as it transits. You can allow an orb of 3 degrees approaching or moving away from (12 to 29 degrees).   There is quite a difference between having a North Node in Cancer and having a North Node in Scorpio but the one thing that both of these water signs have in common is they are very sensitive to their surroundings and are of an emotional makeup.  With a North Node in Cancer or Scorpio, the South Nodes will be in either Taurus or Capricorn which are both earth signs and will focus on earthly matters.  Capricorn is about rising to the top in business related matters, while Taurus is about building a foundation often based on material achievement that will stand the test of time.   Saturn, which will now be making a sextile to both of these placements, will often point towards success and achievement along with recognition of hard work and diligence.  This is considered an opportunity aspect while the Trine suggests not only opportunities but likely easier flow especially when Saturn is in its retrograde cycle. Winter Solstice The Winter Solstice (Hibernal Solstice) takes place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 4:19 a.m. EST in the northern hemisphere. December 21 will have the least amount of daylight as the sun will be at its lowest arc in the sky for our area. Shortly after December 21 daylight will start to increase, and our precious sunlight will return. As nature sleeps and the light is low, we can use the long nights to reflect on our life’s journey. Go inward and plan your intentions for when the energy and the light return. Mother nature knows best. Follow her example. Many animals are now hibernating or slowing down, resting and waiting for the return of light, for the return of warmth, the return of the energy that nurtures us mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Within this range, the aspects will be in effect in your chart and will automatically strengthen as they near  the exact degree of your Capricorn Sun.  Review an ephemeris to get the exact degree and timing of the planets that we are about to speak about.   We will look at transiting Uranus and Saturn as they have a greater impact than any of the inner planets to this position.  The inner planets move too quickly to have any type of lasting influence, whereas the outer planets move much more slowly and will therefore have a longer and more lasting impact in your life.   Currently (December 2024) we see Uranus at 24° in the sign of Taurus and Saturn at 13° in the sign of Pisces.  Both contacts or aspects to Sun in Capricorn are considered positive in nature and carry with them the energies of easy flow, opportunities, change and stability.  Saturn and Uranus will be making a tight sextile to one another as well from March to September of 2025 becoming exact March and April of 2025 in and around 24/25°.  If your Sun is around these degrees (and taking into account the orb of influence), then this will be a prime time for needed change and then a stabilization period shortly thereafter.  You will likely have known that a change of direction was coming prior to this time frame.   From the time of this post (again December 2024), Saturn will move through the sign of Pisces entering Aries for the first time towards the end of May, 2025.  Saturn in Sextile to your Sun suggests that there may be some extra lessons that have to be undertaken with your spiritual connectedness and a stabilization period connected to these goals if this is part of your current assignment.  (The reason I use the term “assignment” is due to the fact that Saturn is known as the teacher and also the disciplinarian. Although it often indicates more duties and some testing along the way it also brings with it, using a steadfast approach, the opportunity to build a solid foundation to whatever you might be trying to implement into your life’s lesson).  This aspect is goal oriented and can also suggest changes to your path or changes coming from within.   During December 2024, Transiting Uranus will be at 24° Taurus moving into Gemini, which is a much more comfortable place for Uranus, in July 2025.  It moves back into Taurus in November 2025, and then will finally stay in Gemini towards the end of April 2026.   Uranus is making a trine to your Sun if your sun is in the later degrees of Capricorn from about 20° onward.  The trine is indicative of easy flow, good opportunities, promising outcomes through change and reorientation.  This may be a time of looking at your life’s path and making changes because where you are no longer suits your current path forward.  Change can be difficult especially when we speak of Uranus in Taurus as Taurus likes things to remain the same but Uranus’ upcoming position in Gemini will likely foster in change in a much easier manner.  Much will depend on the areas of life affected (house positions involved) and the other aspects within your natal chart.  You can expect some disruption and perhaps some of these changes might take place with little notice especially if you have been putting off what needs to take place.    Sun in Capricorn aspects include Saturn and Uranus and together they will create a push and pull situation where you will want things to remain steadfast and at the same time want change.  This can be difficult, but life will take you where you need to go. Make the move before life forces it on you. A shift occurs for many around the age of 29, again around 42 and once more about the age of 59.  These are common times when we go through major regeneration and transformations inside and out. These times can be rather traumatic or in contrast quite liberating.  These are turning points in our ongoing evolution.   Regeneration and Transformation At the age of roughly 28-29, we find ourselves moving through a period of testing and a time of new beginnings, and in some cases, endings.  We enter a new stage in life where who we were previously no long matches the person we are becoming or we may set out to accomplish something that we deem necessary in our life. We may reach out for change to gain momentum and cement our future.  In a year or two after our 28th or 29th birthday, life looks completely different and our groundwork we created during this transition period laid the foundation for what is yet to come.   Between the age of 40 to roughly 43, we are again faced with decisions.  Has our life become stale? Is it time for regeneration?    What used to be likely no longer suits our current journey.  During this phase, we are subject to sudden moves and sometimes these are rather unpredictable. There is a degree of uncertainty as to “should we or should we not” with whatever we are contemplating.  When we do decide to move in a new direction, other people may be surprised because what was in place seemed normal or traditional and our current actions seem a little erratic.  But as we go through this period, we find that life’s direction has changed, and our actions have put us on track and have moved us in the right direction.   At around age 58 or 59, we go through another major transformation as we approach the senior stage of development.  Some contemplate retirement.  Some are put into situations where life takes them down a road that they did not foresee.  Some change direction and begin anew although not often as dynamic as the previous change period around 42.  This current stage is a time of maturation and development that will now push us forward into our golden age although this may still be a long way off.
