  • Uranus Retrograde

The energies related to a retrograde planet are stifled & turned inward. This is a time for review & prepare for when the energies are released so that you can move forward in the new direction. The best time to move forward is when the Uranus goes direct. Uranus suggests that this is a time for inner reflection not only about your life but on a more personal level – the level of “who you are”. It often provides you with more freedom of expression and you just want to be you, or the new you. Uranus Retrograde Uranus’ energies are very revolutionary. They seek freedom of expression and have a strong desire to remove us from anything that has gone stale or no longer serves a viable purpose. Uranus’ energies act in unexpected manners, and you can never be totally sure how they will respond under pressure. Under most conditions, the area of life being affect by Uranus will be the house it is transiting through especially when in retrograde motion. There is often a feeling that something has to change or be shaken up somewhat before its expression is activated. Quite often, you get warnings of necessary changes in the area of life under its influence when in retrograde and then when it turns direct either you make the necessary changes or life makes things happen for you. If you choose to do nothing, life will often take a leading role and see that the changes take place. More often than not when changes are forced upon us, they may not be overly pleasant in their expression. Things can happen at the spur of the moment, suddenly, unexpectedly, without warning. Uranus motto could be “Expect the unexpected”. When a planet is in retrograde, the energies related to the planet and the house(s) it is transiting are stifled or held back. The energy is turned inward and a time for review is at hand. It is a time to re-think things, to re-do things and in an attempt to repair things, you can prepare for when the energies are released so that you can move forward in the new direction of choice. The best time to move forward in your objectives is when the planet goes direct. Uranus suggests that this is a time for inner reflection not only about your life but on a more personal level – the level of “who you are”. It often provides you with more freedom of expression and you just want to be you, or the new you. This is particularly so if Uranus is retrograde in your birth chart. (Any planet that is retrograde in the birth chart becomes more powerful when it turns retrograde through transit.) Uranus is known as the awakener and this is what it will try to achieve in the area of life dictated by the house it is transiting through in your chart. You should also have a look at the natal placement of Uranus by house and also by aspect as this will give you clues into how things might unfold. As with all of the outer planets, Uranus will make suggestions along the way but it will often create a course with little or no direction or input from you. Life happens and things change. Uranus will be the instigator behind these actions, but remember regardless of how drastic and challenging the conditions may be, Uranus always provides you with exactly what you need. The end result is or will be beneficial. When Uranus goes direct, this will often be the time when these areas of life that are involved will be motivated to move towards the new and to make necessary changes. Again these can be in disruptive ways but just for the moment. Do not spend any time worrying about how things might manifest, as Uranus acts on impulse and without warning and often releases in ways that you cannot be prepared for. Remind yourself, as these changes are taken place, that these are happening for a better future. Some people fear changes. Those who are more evolved, or open to the new, know that when the timing is ripe and change is necessary, it should be welcomed with open arms. Uranus will take you where you need to go, so be open and listen. You will know which avenue to take, if life does not dictate, that is. You have freedom of choice on your response however. I had a CTI reading done through Holm Astrology and was flabbergasted at the accuracy and amount of information, past, present and future delivered in that one reading. I left there feeling inspired, confident, self-aware and most importantly, self-accepting. Holm Astrology is well priced and well worth the investment. So much so, that I'm booking a reading party with several friends soon. If you're reading this testimonial it's because you're interested. Well, I encourage you to no longer hesitate! Book your reading with Holm Astrology and Peter will definitely WOW you. Clelia CTI Reading (Traditional oral chart with intuitive card reading) QuotesI just finished reading the composite (relationship) chart done for me by Holm Astrology. I?m not sure what I expected, as I?ve never had a composite chart done before. However, this chart reading is, quite frankly, amazing. The accuracy, depth, and detail provided are excellent. The chart reading answered several key questions I had?and much more. The information was delivered with a high level of professionalism, knowledge, and thoroughness. I feel much better prepared now to move forward in this relationship in a clear, positive and, very importantly, realistic way.Quotes KM, New York Composite Chart Reading Peter Holm of Holm Astrology had previously done an Astrology Oracle Card Reading that was "spot on" for me so I asked for his expertise again, this time for my Astrology Birth Chart..... It is so amazing, that the way the planets align at the time of birth has such an effect on your life.... Peter's professionalism is second to none..... Satisfied Client It truly was a fascinating experience to meet with Peter and get my chart done. This has provided me with a further understanding of my past, present and future life events and milestones. Amazing experience - thank you Peter. MW. Barrie.Quotes MW Satisfied Customer Peter has a very special gift! The chart he did for me is a true reflection of who I am and why I am that person! It also allowed me to see my past with a different, more positive lens. While reading the chart I felt that not only does he have this wonderful gift, but it comes from a "holy" place. Thank you for your guidance! Catarina Although I don't typically write testimonials after receiving a chart reading from Holm Astrology, I feel compelled to do so. This is the most thorough & accurate astrological chart reading I've ever had. It clearly identified not only my main character traits (and often their origination), but also many smaller, more subtle ones I have & it helped me understand more about them. This reading was done using only my birth date, time, & location-Peter Holm had no prior knowledge of me nor ever spoke with me before. Yet, his very thorough, well-written, & extremely detailed report made me feel like he?s known me for years. I also asked for transits (which have not been pleasant). Again, the depth & detail Peter offered regarding these transits was impressive and extremely accurate. He described in clear detail their possible impact on my current life situations (he was correct)Quotes Kate M. New York, USA Glad I made the Investment Part I & importantly, he provided specific & helpful suggestions on ways I could attempt to navigate through them in order to learn the life lessons they're intended to teach (not easy ones right now?). The reports are very tactful but they don't 'sugar coat' things; what is, is. We can only grow when we accept & deal with our reality, & sometimes that's a bitter pill to swallow, at least at first. Subsequent to receiving my detailed reading, I had several questions. I emailed those questions to Peter, & he responded quickly & with great detail and clarity. I am in my early 50?s, have a moderate grasp of astrology, & have worked previously with several astrologers. However, I believe the quality, accuracy, detail, & professionalism provided by Holm Astrology surpasses them all. A reading by Holm Astrology is an excellent resource that will help you better understand & work with your life path. I?m very glad I made the investment & have no doubt you will be, too.Quotes Kate M. New York, USA Glad I made the Investment Part I When this information is viewed fresh on the pages, it makes you laugh at your own transparency, and gain some clarity of the Whole Self, in a way that isn't feasible without this sort of 'big picture' objective feedback. That alone is worth its weight in gold! The chart reading is insightful, intuitive and overall affirming. Peter's warmth and skilled craftsmanship remain constant throughout. I recommend Holm Astrology whole heartedly; it's a wonderful gift to give, especially to oneself. Thank you, Peter. Warmest Regards, MK, Barrie, ONQuotes MK, Barrie Soul or Life Path Reading Part II I was initially interested in getting an astrology chart done because I have found myself going through an interesting phase in life, & I feel like it is important for me to understand what I'm going through in order to prepare for the future. This booklet put into words a lot of things I have been unable to explain & has helped me understand more about myself. Reading this definitely made me more aware of limitations I may set upon myself & increased my awareness of obvious personality traits that I choose to ignore. I think it helps to read something like this with an open mind & ability to accept oneself despite the reaction to the negative & know there's always room for improvement. Thank you for making this astrology chart for me. I found it very insightful & should prove a useful tool.Quotes JC Useful Tool Part 2 The astrology chart you typed up for me is one of the most accurate and most encompassing reflections I've encountered. So much so that I had to ask a family member if she had given any information about me prior to you completing the chart. I found it took quite a few reads to understand & digest all of the information. I think the overall presentation of the booklet is very impressive. I enjoyed how you are able to write with clarity. I found that the precision of your writings is present among concepts that are vague & have blurred lines. It's interesting how you are able to use astrological methods to explain various faucets of life. I was wondering as well as how you are able to write with insight into various personality traits & if you incorporate knowledge of psychic ability to accomplish this?Quotes JC Useful Tool Thank you, Holm Astrology, for my Natal Birth Chart. I've gotta say, I'm pretty freaked out by it! It's me, in a book. A little unnerving to see yourself written out like that, yet comforting at the same time. It helps me to trust the process - that if who I am comes from the alignment of the Universe, then I can feel safe in trusting that it will continue to take care of me. It's that simple. You gave me proof. Nothing is random. Not my existence, not even my personality or challenges. Also, I appreciate your method of describing those challenges too--with insight and suggestions to help turn them into workable and improved aspects of who I am. Guidance from above. Thank you for interpreting my stars.Quotes Kim M. Natal Birth Chart I have read my chart and WOW. This Astrology chart sure captures ME. I still cannot get over how accurate it is. It certainly has helped me to understand the "why" behind my thought process and my emotion, and to understand the contradictions in my personality at times. I will reread my chart every once in a while for the reminders. I feel more at peace with myself now....amazing to me, for sure. The report also gave me some interesting avenues to think about and possibly pursue. It is rather exciting to me. It sure was the best money I ever spent.Quotes JD Accurate WOW My chart was quite accurate-personality & the events over the past year. I have always maintained that I am here to learn patience. You reiterated that. I am a firm believer in moving forward & looking for the lessons & the positive in all situations. It can be difficult though when things get shaken up. Descriptors (in my chart) of life changing on a moment?s notice, as well as having not 1 situation but 3 or 4 that are unexpected & not asked for, are very true. I find the whole idea of the influence of planets very interesting. It challenges the notion that we have choices in our path (other than how we deal with it). Your assessment of changes in relationships and lifestyle are correct. You were also very right in that amongst all the negativity which indeed is very overwhelming (felt as though I had the crud beat out of me) many good supports have popped up which I may not have used previously given my independence. My chart was great. Thank you for all your work.Quotes c.t. Thanks Peter for my birth chart report, truly inspiring and enlightening. Your insights were so amazing and resonated totally with me. Much to digest and of course, I will be re-reading my report again. So glad I came to you for your valued services, much appreciated. Domenic R.Quotes Domenic R. I'm so pleased I'm commissioning another one for another family member! thank you!Quotes Catarina I wish that I could talk to every person that takes a look at your page and considers getting a chart done. Your insights are so acurate and thought provoking. This is definitely a science that you have mastered over the last few decades!Quotes Leigh R. Ottawa I think you do an amazing job on your charts and I would highly recommend your services.Quotes Darlene H. Thanks for the chart Peter Holm. Easy to follow, cheap and crazy accurate.Quotes Casey M. Reading through it was so amazing! It also made me realize a lot about myself that I wasn't fully clear on, it's fantastic! I've never spoken to you in person, only gave you the bare minimum of the information you needed and you were able to pinpoint exactly who I am and factors in my life right now with such accuracy! Amazing!Quotes B. Blaker I just want to thank you, Peter, so much for the astrology chart you wrote up for me. Before I received this chart, I hadn't given astrology much thought. Thank you :) I would encourage many to get their chart done by you, as it's clear that you put forth your commitment, passion, and brilliance.Quotes Lauren Elizabeth The Moon's (Lunar) Node chart is very helpful in providing a mirror as to who you are and why you are here, a fundamental question to our existence. I wish the guidance counsellor at my local high school could have guided me with this kind of info to help make good choices with future studies, career choices and life choices in general!! Highly recommended for youth and late bloomers!Quotes P. McNeill I commissioned the preparation of a Compatibility Chart. I am now happy and confident in my chosen Life Partner. Holm Astrology explains why we are compatible and makes it clear, concise and meaningful. Peter also gives the charts the personal touch with his own observations and insights. The Compatiblity Chart for David and I is Bang On~~ I have read and re read it as have close friends and they are as amazed as well! You both are healers ...one person at a time! I have had both Natal Charts and Compatibility Charts done to amazing accuracy.Quotes J.L. Nova Scotia Reading my daughters Chart was so amazing. Having all of her traits laid out in front of me was a lot like seeing myself written in words. Seeing ways I can help make her a stronger and more emotionally fulfilled person as she grows up is definitely one of the best tools a parent could have. I look forward to experiencing her personality really develop because from what I see in her already and what I see in her Child Empowerment Chart, she is an awesome little person!Quotes B.B. Barrie, Ontario I feel this chart is a gift to me. I appreciate every word and believe so very much. I was drawn to your words and I love how this chart is worded. • Aspects

Aspects Aspects in Astrology There are many different types of Astrology aspects in a Birth or Natal Chart and their movement plays a part in their delineation. There are applying aspects (planets moving together to form an aspect), separating aspects (planets moving away from one another) and stationary aspects (planets that have been in retrograde motion and are now motionless before they turn direct or move forward). Today we are going to review the applying and separating aspects in the Natal Chart. All planets, whether retrograde or direct in the birth chart, will either be forming an aspect with another planet or separating from aspect to another planet. The closer to being the exact degree of the aspect the planets or angles are making, the stronger their influence will be in our lives. There are some planets that at different points in time make no aspects, although this is rare. If they are not making major aspects (sextile, trine, conjunction, inconjunct, square or opposition) they are very powerful in the natal chart. We will be discussing this at a later date as well. Many Astrologers believe that a separating aspect deals with past events, or if you like, finished business. These aspects show the energies of things that have already been dealt with and will eventually fade over time. Some Astrologers theorize that the acknowledgement and correction took place before birth and that we have already made adjustments to whatever lesson the two planets involve were teaching through their energies. The degrees that separate the planets describe how powerful the aspect is or was in the chart. The closer the degrees between the two planets (direct aspect) the more powerful the lesson. It is also theorized that perhaps this close aspect was one of the last lessons or events that was set in motion in a previous lifetime. Astrologers understand this significance and will define its intensity and help delineate the meaning of any particular influence in the Birth Chart. When planets are applying, it is understood that the faster moving planet is moving towards the slower moving planet and suggested unfinished business that will have to be rectified during the course of this lifetime. Once again the closer the aspect, the more apparent and pressing the energies of the planets involved. We have come into this life to learn, to address the apparent issues indicated and come to terms with whatever the planets’ and aspects’ energies are suggesting. The applying aspects become stronger as time passes. They will intensify and push us in directions that will assist in learning whatever the energies suggest. These conditions are dealt with after birth. As a result, applying aspects are suggestive of future endeavours that should be dealt with. Transiting planets (the current movement of the planets compared to the natal position of the planets) that touch on these planetary links can intensify the birth condition and push us towards resolution. This is not to say that all aspects between planets are challenging; far from it. You have to approach the planets involved and decipher how well they work together and what aspects are involved before making a judgement call on how the energies will affect you. It should also be understood that a tight square or opposition in the birth chart has been set in motion in this life for us to overcome and could therefore be considered challenging but these challenging aspects are advantageous in the long run and force us to make adjustments that in turn enhance development. Without challenging conditions in the birth chart (and there are charts that are very easy flowing with many trines and sextiles) the life lessons offer little towards growth and achievement in life. It is the challenging aspects that motivate us forward and challenge us to push for resolution. Remember the tighter the aspect the more significant its influence in our lives. When deciphering a chart it is very important to take this into consideration. For example a conjunction between Mars and Pluto is a very strong aspect, but if they are separating from one another and are out by 8 degrees, an aspect of let’s say Venus conjunct the Sun, (which is a much softer aspect) which is applying and only out by 23 minutes, will have a far greater influence than the aspect between Mars and Pluto. We are working on this information and will be adding more soon. • The Moon

The Moon The Moon The Moon is the ruling planet of the sign Cancer and is also affiliated with the fourth house. The Moon represents the mothering instinct and is linked to the feminine energies within each of us. The Moon deals with primal emotional needs. It is where we nurture ourselves and take care of ourselves on an emotional level. It is where we feel safe within, where we emotionally react to life problems and also find the answers. It provides us with a safe haven, a comfortable and secure emotional foundation that feels like home. It is where we can go and reside in a gentle manner away from the intrusive forces of life and secure a place for ourselves when in times of strife. We could call this the emotional home or safe haven. Feelings of security are linked to the Moon and along with the second house can provide the deepest emotional support that all of us so fundamentally require. The Moon sign and house position depict our emotional reaction to outside stimuli in our lives. For example someone with the Moon in Taurus or in the second house , will find emotional security through building a foundation often based on material gatherings and monetary comfort. Someone who has the Moon in Pisces will secure this emotional structure through an interaction with the higher sources and will find peace through communication with spirit and an inclination to psychic linking and intuitive perception. The Moon also rules the basic habits we form in the formative years. It has to do with our upbringing and often relates directly to the most nurturing parent and how they provided us with early support in childhood. The moon is linked to the past and memories from the past and also how the past has affected us in our world today. Many are tied to how their life was comforted through mothering and taking care of their emotional requirements. While the Sun has to do with our ego and will and conscious selves, the Moon has to do with instinctual response on an emotional level, letting go of the ego and its intervention, and the unconscious mind. The Moon is responsive, reactive and instinctual. It often deals with our inner selves and our emotional being and our sense of self-worth. The Moon is our deepest emotional self and describes our needs, our emotional wants and how we emotionally react to the world around us. The Moon is our mothering side, our nurturing side and our response to the environment. This mothering and nurturing response to the world deals with how we tend to not only ourselves and our emotional needs but also how we tend to the needs of those that are important to us. In its positive responsive state, it fosters emotional interaction, sensitivity and the need to assist others on an emotional level, providing us in turn with self-assuredness also on an emotional level. The Moon is our nurturing requirements being met and then our natural response the world around us in times of need. It fosters emotional kindness, emotional sympathy, emotional compassion and love. In its more negative expression, the Moon has to do with feeling of unworthiness, self-insufficiency, emotion worry, excessive emotional responsiveness and a general feeling of anxiety about the world around us. The Moon by sign and house placement and aspect delineation will define the emotional life's reactions, the emotional state of being and the emotional instinctive reactions to life itself. We should also check to see the Moon’s element (Air, Earth, Water and Fire) and modality (Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable). Astrology 101 The Moon is depicts our emotions. It is the ruler of Cancer and is affiliated with the Fourth House. The Sun Mercury Venus Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto

  • Sun in Aquarius

Sun in Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. Aquarius individuals are the visionaries of the zodiac and have the ability to see far into the future and find ways to make the world a better place for everyone. They are humanitarian and are very conscious of the influence they might have on their environment. If only they could spread the word. They are progressive thinkers with excellent reasoning abilities and they truly want to provide something for others to share and incorporate into their lives. Aquarius This is the sign of the water bearer which symbolically represents these individuals spreading their ideas and new thoughts into the world. They are quite willing to spread their word and are particularly happy when it is well received. Their intention is to bestow the world with new ideas and also involve others in this progression. Aquarius individuals are the visionaries of the zodiac and have the ability to see far into the future and find ways to make the world a better place for everyone. They are humanitarian and are very conscious of the influence they might have on their environment. If only they could spread the word. Their mission is a noble one with the general good of all intended. They are progressive thinkers with excellent reasoning abilities and they truly want to provide something for others to share and incorporate into their lives. They are sympathetic and compassionate with a genuine concern for those around them. Their ideas can be radical and even rebellious, and they are against any type of constraint. Freedom seekers, they reach out beyond the confines of what could be considered normal, extending themselves beyond rational thinking. They are often thought of as trailblazers with progressive, intuitive ideologies in the forefront of their thinking. Aquarians want to change the world and make it a better place for everyone to live. They will patiently try to shake others away from complacency, pushing them into new and unexplored regions of their own minds. As mentioned, they are progressive thinkers and anything that has become stale and no longer serves a purpose, they insist on changing. When their views are obstructed or interfered with they can easily become impatient and temperamental. They are very fixed in their opinions with an intention of providing what others need on a mental level. The thinking process is considered quite logical and they have a broad focus. It is all about evolution and bringing in the new with advancement on their minds. Aquarians believe they are right and will follow along a planned route towards a given target. They can be somewhat rebellious but have no problem admitting to this; some are even radical in their ideas and considered quite different. They actually enjoy this. If you make a friend with an Aquarian, you will never be bored. They have an adventurous spirit and love wide open spaces. There is actually a real need for freedom and a need to roam. Being tied down does not sit well with the average Aquarian. If you are in search for a logical resolution to a problem they will assist you in reaching a positive conclusion and then make you aware that it was you that came up with the solution. To get a clearer picture of your Aquarius Sun, check to see which house your Aquarius Sun is located in. This will provide you with more information on how you might utilize these humanitarian principles and put your life to work. Also have a look at aspects from other planets and key point in the birth chart to define how the planets will affect the overall condition of the Sun sign. Check in particular if there are planets in the eleventh house, which is ruled by Aquarius and if there are, this will intensify many of the traits linked to this sign Astrology 101 Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and the eleventh house . Other stones associated with Aquarius include Amber, Amethyst, Angelite, Blue Obsidian, Boji Stone, Cryolite, Garnet, Hematite, Lithium Quartz, Magnetite, Merlinite, and Rainforest Jasper. • Jupiter Retrograde

Jupiter Retrograde Jupiter Retrograde When Jupiter goes into its retrograde, this cycle lasts about 120 days and will move between 10 to 20 degrees. Jupiter goes retrograde every year and as retrogrades usually indicate that the energy is not strong or its full expression is restricted, Jupiter in retrograde still offers up opportunities for expansion and optimism, although somewhat challenged when it is in touch with Saturn. You can use an orb of 3-4 degrees when determining if Jupiter will affect any of the planets or important points in your natal chart. As it crosses these placements, the energy of Jupiter will increase. When it turns direct again, its positive expansiveness is considered to be alive and well. Under normal conditions Jupiter is known as the great benefactor, but it is said that when it moves into retrograde, the energies of these characteristics seem to fade and its normal opportunistic influence is felt on an inner level. On the material side of things, however, it is less effective but still present. It is suggested that if you are considering buying property or big luxury items while Jupiter is in retrograde motion that you reconsider and wait until Jupiter is once again in direct motion. Much depends on the natal aspects to your Jupiter. In general, Jupiter’s energies are not as lucky in retrograde motion as they are under direct motion. When this planet moves into retrograde, its impact is felt on an inner level rather than in our outside world. During a retrograde cycle, you can benefit greatly if you focus on inner growth and awareness. Getting in touch with you and objectively view yourself making alterations along the way as this would be very beneficial Jupiter is the planet of expansion and is connected to spirituality and the philosophies of life that have deeper meaning. If you have a look at the house it is transiting through as well as the house it is located in your natal chart, these will be areas of life that you can do work on and transform in ways that will suit you better (when Jupiter is direct again). It is a time of introspection when Jupiter is retrograde. Remember to view Jupiter even when retrograde on a positive note, even if what you see or if your life’s direction is not what you thought it was. Under the retrograde influence you can make adjustments to the way you have been living your life, transform your life’s direction and put yourself on track with where you should be going. Jupiter in retrograde is connected to the lessons in life that are required during that specific time. Be honest with yourself under this influence, and you will be able to re-examine your truths and gauge these with a keen eye in order to decide what you want to change and what is worthy of keeping. These are often aspects of yourself that need some tweaking, in turn creating a higher version of yourself on track and ready to move in your intended direction. Look inside yourself and find those inner riches. While under the influence of Jupiter in retrograde, if you are making plans on going into a business venture, make sure that you take the time to consider all the aspects connected to making this decision. You may find that you will make great expenditures when Jupiter is retrograde. This is not always a wise decision and likely not one you would make if Jupiter were in direct motion. It is actually best to wait before making any decisions, unless your natal Jupiter and the planets connected to it in the natal chart are quite “well” aspected. Check to see what the natal chart is saying and then make your decisions. Just make sure that you are viewing these contacts with clarity and watch for expanded optimism. Once Jupiter has gone back into direct motion and is making aspects to other planets in your natal chart, you will be able to gauge what areas of life might be affected and the potential outcome of actions taken once Jupiter is direct. Jupiter is a very positive influence in your life and will enhance most experiences, especially when linked to higher forms of delivery. • Grand Square

Grand Square Aspects in Astrology Grand Square The Grand Square (also known as the Grand Cross) is an aspect in Astrology and it involves at least four planets, two oppositions and four squares. The first and third planets will be in opposition (180 degrees) to one another, the second and fourth planets will be in opposition to each other, while the first planet squares (90 degrees) the second planet and the second plant squares the third plant and the third plant squares the fourth planet and the fourth squares the first planet involved. A strong Grand Square will have all of the four planets in the same mode (cardinal, fixed or mutable). If one or more of the planets do not fit into this criteria then it is considered a weak Grand Square. The closer the squares and oppositions are by degree to one another, the stronger the energies of the Grand Square. The Grand Square is considered a challenging aspect because of the general nature of these aspects. They often produce stress and inner tension or offer a challenge that will require inner strength and determination in order to advance through the lessons. This aspect can either become the stagnation in the lives of those under its influence or the motivating factor that has the potential of producing great strides forward. When this natal aspect becomes activated through transit or progression, the individuals with this aspect in their natal chart will feel as though they are being pulled in four directions indicated by the planets involved and the houses that the planets are found in. They may feel over-burdened and paralyzed by life’s conditions. There is usually a planet that forms a tight trine or sextile within the Grand Square and the energies and house placement of this trine or sextile will often help unlock the potentials found within the framework of this larger configuration. This contained energy resulting from the aspect needs to find a release and this trine or sextile is often where the energies are released which, if used properly, can produce great results. These individuals often need to turn inward and find their own strength. Many with this aspect feel as though they cannot rely on others to help them through life’s difficulties and therefore become stronger over time and very self-reliant. This is not to say that reaching out would be a bad idea or that no one can assist them in their time of crisis, however, many with this aspect become reliant on themselves and motivate themselves forward conquering these energies which in turn builds inner strength. Most people with challenging aspects find ways to use the energies in a positive manner, and they are often the ones that push ahead in life and make something out of themselves as they become experienced in dealing with these energies. If they can find a goal or spiritual purpose behind the difficulties at hand, they can make their way over the hurdles and rise above any difficulty that comes their way. The key is to know that they are not trapped and that there is always a way out. It is imperative that they not beat their heads again the proverbial wall. Again, they must realize that they are never trapped. There are many valuable lessons learned from challenging aspects found within the framework of the Natal Astrology chart. We need to address each challenge head on, one step at a time. Back to Aspects Back to Astrology 101

Ceres Ceres is an asteroid which is found between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Its main influence in Astrology focuses on nurturing and protection, but has also been known to be connected to anguish and grief. Some individuals suggest that Ceres is connected to loss and that people will go to great lengths to regain what was once lost even if it means discarding anything that gets in their way of this recovery. The problem is sometimes we cannot regain what is lost. This is where the nurturing instinct and protection influences may surface with someone who has lost something important to them or in direct relationship to “something” that has been physically lost to them. The placement of Ceres by sign and house position will define what area of life needs nurturing and in what manner this nurturing can take place. A couple of examples might help. We will use both the sign and the house placement for clarity. If, for example, Ceres were found in the sign of Aries, what this individual needs and wants to give would be self-regulated. They would work diligently driving themselves, sometimes using force, to achieve their objectives. Action is what is needed and if for example this were in the third house, their needs and wants may involve their siblings or even neighbours. A great way to help heal or nurture that which needs to be nurtured would be through communicative techniques with this example house placement. With our example, the intellect would play a significant role in what unfolds. They would feel as though it would be up to them to move ahead and their priority may be to nurture what suits them or push for nurturing those siblings, but this individual would want to be the forerunner in what takes place. Another example may be Ceres in the sign of Leo. These individuals would really appreciate attention and even admiration if it goes to the extreme. Above all with this example, these individuals would like respect and to be noticed for what they do even if the actions were being carried out for someone else. They would want to control the situation but would have strong consideration for what the other person may want. If Ceres happened to be in the fifth house with our Leo example, the focus may involve a romantic partnership or their children. Enjoyment and experiencing life would be strong points with this placement and living life to the fullest would help in the healing process. Let’s look at one more example. Let’s say that this last example, the individual has a Scorpio Ceres in the 12th house. This individual may need healing through acts connected to sexual expression or through internal integration and eventual transformation. There would be a need or deep understanding of the mystical or spiritual side of life and a strong want for full understanding of these subjects. Anything mysterious would open doors to eventual healing through deep self-study or a strong push to help others through their own methods of self-study revealing anything that needs to surface. This in turn would lead to healing deep integrated wounds. Due to this placement of Ceres being in the twelfth house with this last example, this individual may work behind closed doors or undercover in some manner, as this work could be secretive or subdued in some way. They may work in hospitals or prisons or work as a volunteer for the underdog. With this placement, they may use their own understanding of what needs healing in others because they have lived under similar conditions themselves (knowledge through direct experience). There is a strong need for healing and also to be the healing agent when it comes to Ceres in the Astrology chart. It is a mothering influence and some say it is connected to the sign Virgo with Venus having rulership. So Venus in the sign of Virgo suits this asteroid (which is also known as a dwarf planet). • The tenth-house | holmastrology.com

The Tenth House There are four houses known as the Cardinal Points and these are the first , fourth , seventh and tenth houses. These four energy channels (Angles) are considered action points in the horoscope. The first house cusp or the Ascendant and the tenth house cusp or the Midheaven also known as the MC are the two most active areas in a natal chart. We will go into more detail on a page which will be titled "Angles" in the near future. When Transiting Planets cross these areas of life, as all houses define areas of life, events often take place. Now much depends on the planet crossing this area and the energy it represents. Every house cusp defines a particular area of life and these areas of life are enhanced when Transiting Planets or Progressed Planets energy each house, crossing the cusp. The Tenth and First house cusps far outweigh the other ten areas of life represented by each house cusp, although one usually experiences a shift as the Outer Planets cross this threshold. The Tenth House cusp or the MC describe your occupation and the actual point and ruling sign often is suggestive of the type of work you should be doing in your life. This is not necessarily what you are doing with your life, but definitely what you should be doing with it. When doing an occupational profile this is the first place an Astrologer will look to define what we should be doing with our lives. It should however be pointed out that the Moon’s Nodes are also very indicative of what one should be doing with their life. The Tenth House deals directly with your worldly ambitions, your outer goals and often portrays the ego and some of its characteristics, although the Ascendant Sign is even more descriptive of this. When a planet in transit crosses this energy point quite often there are changes to our occupation and our status in life. As the fourth house cusp is always directly in opposition to the MC, when a planet crosses the tenth house cusp it is also in Opposition to the Fourth House Cusp. During these transformational periods, the home and family will also be affected by what is taking place within your occupation. The sign ruling the tenth house cusp, especially if it is a Cardinal Sign, can depict public recognition, especially if it is in a Cardinal Point which is between 29 degrees of the Mutable Sign before the Cardinal Sign or 0 to 1 degree of the Cardinal Sign. An example of this would be having a sign of 29 degrees Virgo on the MC or 0-1 degree Libra on the MC. Natal Planets in this house and aspects to these planets can provide an Astrologer with input into how the energy of this house will be relayed to the outside world and if we will have an easy time in work related ways and in our status in life. Frequently, a Gemini or Pisces MC suggests two completely different occupations during the course of our life. It is important, however, to understand the true concept of success as it does not always pertain to worldly success. In most cases we need Natal Aspects that closely mirror events in the Transiting Planetary Energies for something of significance to happen, but in many cases, even when there is no natal link to Transiting Planets crossing over the MC or the Ascendant, events may still happen. As suggested, these two areas (MC or Ascendant) are action areas of a chart and very significant when deciphering potential life issues when Transits or Progressions pass over these very important areas of life Astrology 101 The Tenth house is naturally ruled by Capricorn . This house deals with SOCIAL STATUS.
