CAPRICORN NEW MOON

There will be a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn at 20° 44” on January 11, 2024, at 6:57 am EST. 

A new moon is a Conjunction of the Sun and the Moon. This Conjunction of the Sun and Moon also makes a Trine to Transiting Uranus which is at 19° Taurus.

The energies of Uranus are known as the awakener and the driving force behind change that is required at the time.  Uranus pushes us in new directions because our current path no longer suits our evolutionary process.

If you have planets or angles within 3° of this placement either by Conjunction or Opposition and to a lesser degree Square, Trine and Sextile, you will be influenced by this New Moon’s energies.  Check the houses of all planets and angles involved in your chart to get a full picture of what areas of life will be influenced.

The object of a New Moon is to set your intensions for a long-term goal that will manifest its energies by the time we have our Full Moon in Capricorn some six months from now.  Prepare yourself for what you deem important at this time.  It might be advisable to write your intensions or goals down. When we write something on paper, we set our intensions beyond just a mental concept.

There is a degree of indecision or hesitation when we are talking about Capricorn (which is ruled by Saturn).  Saturn is overly cautious and worried until its energies has been committed to something.  Due to Saturn’s influence, focus your goals around business pursuits and long-range plans. 

You must understand that you will have to work towards these objectives and there can be no half measures about this.  What you put into your goals will be scrutinized when we have our Capricorn Full Moon. Sometimes we can make changes along the way that better suit the situation although with Capricorn these changes may not come easily.  Uranus, however, will want you to jump but Saturn will want you to resist.

You will have to consciously plan your route of intension often bringing something new and exciting into life.  If you already had made plans prior to this New Moon, then you can look to see what is left to do to attain your goals.  In many cases, however, we begin something new under the New Moon energies. Capture these energies and use them to your advantage.  It is always more productive to work with the energies at hand, then to fight them and struggle with something unrelated.

SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON 2023

On December 12, 2023, we will be having a New Moon at 20° Sagittarius at 20° at 6:32 p.m. EST. 

This Sagitarius New Moon 2023 will be making a quincunx to Uranus at 19° in the sign of Taurus. 

New Moon’s energies are about new beginnings and often indicate a surge of activity or energy directed at making new plans of action, setting goals and aspirations, and moving in new directions within the framework of the sign and house position indicated by your natal chart.

Because this New Moon is in the sign of Sagittarius, our focus should be in areas related to the traits of Sagittarius.  If you have planets within 3° (17°-24°) especially by conjunction or opposition and any planets in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces), this New Moon will affect you.  If you have other planets in these degrees but not in the mutable signs or in Opposition, you can also be affected by this positioning but not to the same degree.

This will be the best time to begin your focus to expand your horizons and plan action that is optimistic in nature and viewed as though you will gain perspective and advancement.  The ruling planet of Sagittarius is Jupiter and Jupiter bestows good luck and often fortunate conditions especially when we are being honest with ourselves and others and making plans that not only move us in a forward direction but also have a positive impact on those around us.  You can be independent in your approach but keep in mind that what you start at this time can also affect others.

You may have a more adventurous spirit and feel a greater sense of confidence under this influence, and because of this broader perspective and optimistic view, your chances of success may improve.  You may find that you are more open to new concepts and outspoken when it comes to your opinion.

On the negative side, you may have exaggerated expectations.  Over exaggerated ideals may not be reached but the higher your aim, the greater the potential.

Transiting Uranus is in quincunx to this positioning, and this often suggests that you must adjust to what is taking hold.  Perhaps jumping into situations is part of the problem.  Uranus will provide a push to find something new and sometimes without due consideration.  Take your time.  Don’t jump, but you should still advance with optimism and open doors that might otherwise have been closed. 

You have a more open adventurous spirit at this time, and you might want to travel and broaden your horizons.  This might not be a bad idea if you can prepare for it and can afford to take this trip.  A part of you wants to move ahead without too much forethought, so think things through before jumping.

Sagittarius New Moon

Scorpio New Moon

We will be experiencing a New Moon in the sign of Scorpio @ 20° on November 13 @ 4:27 EST. This New Moon is highlighted by its opposition to Uranus and its conjunction with Mars. Transiting Mars and Transiting Uranus are in tight opposition to one another.

This Scorpio New Moon sets the stage for new beginnings often associated with occult energies (due to its placement in Scorpio). All water New Moons are “feeling” focused but this positioning of the Moon being in the third decant suggests that not only is there the influences of Scorpio, but there is also a connections to Cancer. This proposes that the family might be involved as well. There is intensity and the potential for power struggles because of the tight connection with Mars.

Pluto rules Scorpio, and Pluto and Mars together can indicate quite the power struggle. There will likely be no halfway measures associated with this connection.

The opposition from Uranus suggests that we expect the unexpected and that change may be part of the process. Also, an awakening on some level has great potential for unfolding.

There may be sexual overtones connected with this New Moon’s placement. Don’t forget this is the start of something that will reach maturity, or a culmination point in about six months from now when we have the Full Moon in Scorpio.

Change can be disruptive and take place when you least expect it. There may be something about what unfolds that is unexpected and it pushes us in new directions.

This is likely to be a deep psychological time when we are asked to reach deep below the surface to uncover anything that has not been dealt with properly. We may not like what surfaces, but it will be important to deal with it. Watch for any form of violence or aggression, and do not put yourself in harm’s way. Be especially careful when operating heavy machinery and when driving. If by chance you get into an argument, do not take your aggression out while driving your vehicle.

Check if this New Moon affects your chart. For this New Moon to have an overriding influence in life, it should either be in conjunction with a planet or angle, or in opposition. Keep the orb of influence rather tight (no more than 3°). Check also which houses are being influenced and how these other indicators might affect the overall picture of the potential in your chart particularly with what we have touched on in this post.
