Holm Astrology has been creating "Astrology" and "Food For Thought" posts for over 10 years.  Wix has taken over the Vista Print websites and as a result of the migration of our information, a large portion of our blog posts are currently lost.

We realize our Astrology posts are vital to our students.

If you do not find what you are looking for on this Blog page, please visit www.holmastrology.blogspot.com/ where you will find our missing blog posts.  There are over 2,660 posts pre September, 2023.

We apologize for the inconvenience but it is worth the jump over to our blogspot.

We all experience life events that are anything but comfortable.  This is a common thread we all share, and these periodic events can make us feel stifled and can deplete our enjoyment of life.

Our attitude towards events and choices can make the experience less than ideal or we can see the event for what it is and use it for growth. A life event, teaching us lessons that can only be taught this way, they are not punishment or bad luck. They are growth and propulsion forward.
Take Life as it Comes

We feel so content when life flows smoothly, yet when we experience the slightest little twist, we may feel slightly off kilter or struggle immensely.

Realistically, we cannot escape life’s lessons. Many of us look at them as punishment or bad luck, and we can get caught up in the event spending far too much time thinking about “our bad luck” and “why me” as opposed to welcoming the lessons for growth and expansion.

“Loss” is often a big portion of our lessons whether it is loss of a loved one as they pass over or when we walk away from someone or someone else walks out of our lives and the list goes on.

Are these actual losses?

A loved one passing on has just moved to the next chapter of their soul’s journey. How could that be a loss?

Being with someone whose energy clashes with us or that we have outgrown is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination.  Saying our goodbyes and moving on to a new chapter in our life is not a loss. It is a new beginning.

Our attitude towards events and choices can make the experience less than ideal or we can see the event for what it is and use it for growth. A life event, teaching us lessons that can only be taught this way, are not punishment; they are not bad luck. They are growth and propulsion forward. Take life as it comes.

These lessons can be uncomfortable, for the moment, but remember, they are temporary, and we will adjust. They provide us with valuable lessons or life experiences that would not otherwise have been taught.  There is usually a deeper meaning behind these events although we may not be able to understand what is being taught in the moment.  Don’t search for the answers to these experiences. Let them reveal themselves to you.  The search itself can hold you back.

Your attitude and focus play important roles in all life experiences.  You cannot escape your life and what is. You are meant to experience the lesson; how long you hold onto the pain is a choice.  That is up to you and your focus can change when you decide that it is time to move on.

Do not focus on what is missing, focus on what you have.  Pay heed to all the little things in life that are working even when they are hard to find, for they are still there.  Your focus amplifies what is. With practice, this focus gets easier and easier. It does take work to become accustomed to how the mind operates but it is no different that muscle memory.  Practice makes perfect.

Don’t forget, you are not your mind. You are the one listening to it.

There is a gradual development as anything moves through the houses of the Zodiac. The first house represents a new beginning and as we migrate through each house, we develop the skills represented by the energies of each house, one building on the next. Today we will look at houses one through four.
Our Transition Through The Houses in Astrology, House one through four

In Astrology, the Ascendant is a new beginning.  As anything moves through the first houses, we begin again. There is a gradual development as anything moves through the houses of the Zodiac.  The first house represents a new beginning and as we transition through each house, we develop the skills represented by the energies of each house, one building on the next. Today we will look at houses one through four.

Thinking strictly of the energies of the houses, without focusing on the energies of the planets, comets or anything else that migrates through the Zodiac, the first house, again, is the beginning, a new birth or new start. We learn what is required in order to express ourselves in our environment.  We acquire certain characteristics which suit our outward expression, build on how we wish to be seen by the world and formulate a plan to push onward in our quest of life.

As we move from the first into the second house, and we are becoming comfortable with our outward expression especially in the way we present ourselves to the general public, we now need to find comfort in this expression and security from within.  Some find this inner security, although often we may find this temporarily in our efforts to acquire financial security.  What we are really trying to obtain is inner security and no outward success can build any type of permanent security.  The financial situation, whether we choose or do not choose to pursue this, does offer a “feeling” of security in the ever changing monetary expression.

As we begin to gain inner confidence acquired in the second house, we then move into the third house where we set out to achieve communication skills in our daily life experience.  We may now feel secure enough within or not so secure, but our self-expression through our communicative techniques will hopefully help in these situations.  This can be received through many channels such as communication with siblings and other family members in early life.  When we mature, we should be ready to tackle the world at large and our communication is essential for our advancements whatever that may be.

When we venture beyond communication techniques we acquired through the third house, we should now begin to settle into life.  We then begin thinking about family and a place where we can hang our hat, so to speak.  We move towards settling into a home of our choosing and think about building a family although our own immediate family, especially the parents, will have a significant impact on some of these choices.  We may move from the family home and find a place of our own or think about gaining our own independence in some manner.  We may be ready or almost ready to buy a home but we might want someone to share the expense or we start our journey towards a family of our own, all represented by the fourth house energies.

We will continue with our transition through the houses in Astrology in our post on February 28.

Listening to the world news, you can’t help but feel pain and sadness.  Experience the concerns and worry (just for a moment) and acknowledge the plight of others.  Innocent people are dying because of war.  People are being forced to leave their homes due to safety concerns.  Parents are losing their children and children are losing their parents.

Experience the concerns and worry (just for a moment) of others & acknowledge their plights. Now review your life. Perspective is everything. Let’s make ours one of gratitude.
Reflections

Now spend some time reflecting on your own life. Where do your reflections take you?

There may be some issues that surface during our reflections, but it is not all bad. Yes, the cost of living has increased immensely, including housing, mortgages, rent, food, etc. but the important thing to focus on is we are managing, maybe managing on less, but we are managing.

We can still feed our children, and most are able to pay the rent. We don’t worry about our home being bombed or having to leave where we live to be safe.

We hear many complaining about the number of refugees entering our country, but so many come from war torn countries. Normally, if they can get jobs, they take the jobs that many of us would not consider taking.

We have always had to work for what we have, but we live without fear and in most cases, we have a roof over our heads.

Let’s acknowledge and appreciate what we do have in life and not what we feel is missing.  In many ways, compared to several countries, we live a life of luxury.

We are not suggesting that you give up on your goals. What we are suggesting is that you be thankful for what is available to you and the opportunities you have in your life.

Perspective is everything.  Let’s make ours one of gratitude.
