TIME TO REFOCUS

Are you overly focused on the needs of everyone else? 

Do you neglect your own needs? 

You matter as well.  If you don’t look after your own needs, who will? 

You are important and you can’t help others for long if you neglect yourself.  You matter and you should be a priority.

Take a moment to think of something that you wish for yourself. What was your reaction? 

Respect your value!

Your reaction will be a good indicator of the importance you place on “YOU”.  Is there a part that says you are not worthy or not good enough? 

Recognize your value. Do something for you!  We are not referring to material things. We are referring to your health - mentally, physically and spiritually. Pay particular attention to how you talk to yourself and how you prioritize your needs.

Listening to that little voice that whispers what is important for you right now, even if it is just a 5 minute break from the hustle of parenthood, from the demands of clients, etc.

You have value.  Respect that value. Time to refocus.

By adhering to the needs of others, do we lose ourselves in the process?

Do we place value on our personal needs? 

Do we live our lives to only fulfill the needs and wants of others? 

Do we live our lives only to fulfill our own needs and wants?

What have you learned from your responses to these questions? 

Are you living according to what others expect or are living your life with concern for their welfare and peace of mind?

There is a difference.

Tis the Season

We cannot live our lives obeying the requests of others and ignoring our own personal needs in life. As the saying goes, you cannot feed others from an empty cupboard.

The personal rights of others are important and helping others is very rewarding to them and to us. Remember, however, you and your needs are just as important as anyone else’s needs. Life feels much more fulfilling when we share our lives with others but also when we live the life that suits our evolutionary quest. We can certainly combine both.

We learn from others and their personal experiences, but there is also value in recognizing and fulfilling our personal needs and wants.

Observe the rights of others and self. Life is to be shared. We all need to be treated with equality. You and your life are important. We have to find balance.

Tis the season when giving and caring seems to be brought out in the open.  We can live each and every day with the nature of giving, of love and caring for others but for self as well.
