As Saturn transits through our natal chart, it will eventually reach opposition to our natal Mercury. Saturn takes about 2 ½ years to move from one sign to the next sign and 29 years to make a full cycle returning to its original placement when we were born. Mercury is a neutral planet; it needs something to activate its energies. Transits and Progressions will act as a trigger.

The energies of the opposition between Saturn and Mercury will largely depend on the state of Mercury in your natal chart as well as the placement of natal Saturn. If Mercury is poorly placed, the opposition will be more challenging than if it were placed more comfortably with favourable aspects.

Mercury is the planet of the mind and has to do with our communication techniques, ability to formulate ideas and create concrete action based on our thought process. It also has to do with our speech and rationalization and can also speak of our reaction to life’s events.

Saturn has to do with the building process when linked with Mercury and how we view our objectives and what we might think our processing might reveal. Saturn often indicates hard work and disciplined effort. We must work towards finalizing our ideas when we are dealing with Saturn and Mercury. Saturn can make us worry about outcomes, fear mistakes or making the wrong decisions and usually requires some degree of concentration and deliberation before we move ahead. This can be a good thing or a difficult situation depending on how deep this thought process runs. The houses involved will define the areas of life involved.

Saturn can also produce concrete results with viable solutions and can build slowly towards solutions built to last. Oppositions are considered challenging aspects and often includes other people. People may be opposed to your decisions or think that you might be making the wrong choices moving ahead. There may be some obstacles in the way and it may take longer to achieve what you are setting out to do because of others’ influences or because of the slow moving progress which is often indicated by Saturn’s influence.

Your goal should be to clear your mind of obstacles/influences that hinder your decision making and also to listen to what others might have to say. After careful consideration push yourself forward towards your objectives ensuring it is the right way to go.

Heated conversations seldom reflect how we truly feel overall. At these times, we often express our reaction in the moment and can say things that are hurtful, even harmful and not at all what our intensions normally would be.

Emotions can play a significant role in our conversation and in the heat of the moment we may say things that we really should have thought about before we reacting.

On occasions we can be misinformed or we can use information out of context and as a result our reactions are out of line with the truth. We can get caught up in the heat of the moment and we react instead of being proactive and productive.

Once words are spoken, there is little that can be done to correct the situation. We can certainly ask for forgiveness, but we likely will be weighed down by our reactions. After due consideration we must forgive ourselves even if others will not. We must not live in the past. Ideally, we will learn from our mistakes and move forward wiser and with more determination not to repeat “reaction”. Do not let the heat of the moment destroy relationships.

Live in the moment. Once you have learned from them, let go. Forgive yourself. It is important to take responsibility for our actions but not to live in regret of them. Learn, grow and move forward.

Trines (120°) are considered favourable aspects with easy flow and often suggest opportunities, good luck and favourable conditions. The Trine from Saturn to Venus is favourable but not without obstacles or challenges along the way. This trine often entails hard work, trying conditions but also a firm foundation and lasting potential after the aspect energies have passed.

Venus is often associated with love and affection and in general offers a warmth that surrounds the life experience indicated by the houses involved. Saturn will make you work for your results, jumping through hoops to reach your objectives. Falling in love is not an objective but under these conditions it does not come easily. There will be some challenges. Perhaps the love connection involves other people like an estranged spouse that won’t let go. Perhaps children are part of this love affair and working to make things right may be somewhat challenging. Something hinders progress and it may not be easy but over time should prove to be fortunate as you learn to work with the energies. Solidification is part of the process.

Sometimes Venus has to do with finances and security. Perhaps there are worries whether there will be sufficient income for the relationship. Venus may speak about purchasing a home, nice furnishings or an automobile. One thing that should be considered under this aspect is whether or not Saturn is in its retrograde cycle or moving direct. During its retrograde cycle its influences are much softer and promises easier passage moving through life events.

One thing is almost certain (we say almost as the whole chart must be considered) Saturn with the right efforts can produce very solid results and lasting potential. By putting the right foot forward and working diligently towards a valuable outcome with commitments, you can do well over time but patience is a pre-requisite.

How does the future look?

Do you have plans for your future and are you set to move in that direction?

The future can be uncertain but also holds promise and definitely some type of adventure.

How we approach each day and the activity of each day is of primary interest. Do we anticipate challenges?

If so, are we preparing ourselves for what is coming or are we creating a self-prophecy?

Is there promise in the making?

How much work are we willing to put into creating these potentials?

The work applied always has an impact on the outcome. Are we doing enough?

Things of importance are worth putting in the effort needed to grow, learn and reap the rewards.

If we fall short occasionally, do we sit back and create a new plan or do we surrender to failure?

Attitude and mental focus always play an important part. We have a choice on how we look at life’s events. We also choose how we deal with life’s lessons. We can learn or we can feel sorry for ourselves. Which is more productive?

Events can be out of our hands but how we respond/react to these events is a personal choice. Decide to be proactive. Do not be a victim of life. Be a director!

On April 20, 2023, the Sun moved into Taurus. Please read our post from April 17 to read about Taurus and its traits. 

Transiting Mercury has been in the sign of Taurus since April 4 then went retrograde April 21 @ 21° but moves direct May 15 at 5°. Mercury remains in Taurus until June 12 when it moves into the sign of Gemini.

Mercury conjunction the Sun in Taurus will activate the thinking process and there will be stages of planning and putting goals into practice for those that apply themselves. The retrograde cycle is the planning phase, and the direct motion is the “doing” stage. The mind will meld with goals and ambitions and will also formulate what action to take that is best suitable for this time. The house position in the Taureans chart will dictate what areas of life are involved and the direct conjunction period will be when the energies are at their strongest.

Jupiter moves into Taurus on May 17 and the North Node and Jupiter will be in direct conjunction at 2-4° from the later stages of May until about June 10ish. Those Taureans with this conjunction will be empowered to move in the direction of life they wish to take. The road ahead often opens during these times. Usually someone of significance comes into life and may aid this.

Jupiter expands and delivers opportunities for growth and good fortune while the North Node deals with your path ahead. Advancement is possible if the Taurean chooses to listen to what Astrology is translating from these aspects.

Life is a perplexing game of “what if”, “what can”, “what will” and “who knows”.

We walk our specific path alone although we do have others that share at least a portion of the road with us. Although we are alone in many ways it is wonderful to share our steps with many others.

Some of the important people that walk with us have great influence such as our partners, children, parents, siblings and friends.

We frequently ask, “why are we here”, “what have we come to accomplish”, and so forth.

There are many mysteries in our ongoing journey. As we grow we get answers to some of these questions although often the answers are just for that moment. Life is constantly moving in different directions.

Living our life to the fullest is essential.

We can get caught up on the “whys” or we can learn to accept our life’s path.

Knowing, accepting and using the teachings that come into life serve as great tools and open us to understanding.

Knowing that our focus and our expectations help mold what is yet to come, we can orchestrate our lives in a more rewarding manner. Focus is key to unleashing our potential. We do have special keys to use in this life but knowing this is not enough; we actually have to use them.

Life is magical. Do not get caught up in negativity and fear.

Life is the greatest teacher, and we are its students. Our reaction to life is always in our hands and life goes on even after you think it won’t. Live your life. Enjoy what it offers and experience it to the fullest.

The solar eclipse on April 20 is in the sign of Aries @ 29°. Planets in the final degree of a sign have a fated quality suggesting that there is an emphasis on getting things done. There is an urgency attached to what needs your attention. This eclipse can have an impact for up to one year if it touches your natal planets or angles within 3°. The conjunction and/or opposition are the strongest indicator of change with a strong impulse to move in personal directions (Aries).

There is a driving force pushing you ahead to make personal changes, to take control of your life and make plans that are far-reaching but personal in nature. New beginnings are at hand. In most cases when something new is on the horizon it indicates that there are endings too so that the door is open as the changes approaches.

Disruption, obstacles, ego challenge and perhaps forceful situations are at hand due to the square from Transiting Pluto. Pluto’s influence enhances the fact that something must come to an end. There will be no half measures with how this unfolds. It will be complete and decisive and we may be forced to go with the flow rather than fight the process.

Action is likely a requirement but not quick decisions. You need to weigh things out before jumping. Jumping without proper insight is not suggested although the urge will be strong. Take your time; think things out. However, you should be assertive and take charge of the situation.

This is about your needs although it may affect others, but over aggression is not a good idea. Others may get hurt as may you. Over assertion is not the route to take. Violence of any kind is not suggested although this aspect is about self-empowerment and independence. It requires bravery on some level. Perhaps you know that the change must come but are afraid of where it might lead you. Watch for strong thrusts in an overaggressive manner.

Seek out compassionate ways. Think of others and how they might respond but know that this is about your needs and that this is not due to egotistical requirements. You are the master of your destiny. Ride the wave of change and know that it may take some time to be comfortable again, but change is a requirement.

Throughout life we meet those we consider to be magnificent souls. They stand out and find a place not only in our hearts and minds but become a part of our creative movement. They seem to speak directly to us and it feels as though they were meant to be in our lives during that precise moment.

Teachers can come in the form of parents, siblings, children, other relatives, close friends and yes even foes. They seem to say the right triggering words when we need them to either sooth us or to motivate us.

Life experience is the greatest teacher of all. This holds true as we work our way through adversity, bask in the times of wonder, listen….truly listen without the need to respond, and practice growth through experience as we continue moving forward.

Even in times of despair we move forward learning and building along the way. We gain strength from adversity and at some point through our own experiences we too can become a teacher to those who may need us during crucial times in their lives. We can be the greatest teacher through example.

If you were to follow the sequence of Aries to Taurus the movement would be from pushing ahead in your endeavors with drive and ambition to stabilizing your advances and reaching towards more structure and steadying the achievements so they have lasting ability. Because T Neptune is in the late degrees of Pisces, this trine will apply to anyone with their Natal Saturn in Scorpio or Cancer. If your N Saturn is in the early degrees of Leo or Sagittarius when Neptune enters into Aries, this trine will also apply to you. Saturn always implies a reality check, as it deals primarily with earthly focuses such as business and always suggests that a diligent effort and a steady approach offers the best outcome. Transiting Pluto squaring your natal Ascendant can be quite challenging. It forces you to question the way you represent yourself to the public. “Do you need to make changes“, is not the question. “You must make changes or life will make those changes for you” is the statement. This is a direction or a turning point. There are no half measures when it comes to Pluto’s energies.

Pluto may also make ties to your MC and IC, perhaps conjuncting one of them. This suggests that the time has come or will come or has already passed when you will make significant changes to your path in life, your career choices, your goals and aspirations and perhaps your relationships. It may also have an impact on the home and family. You may move or do major renovations. Family and the home could be changed. Much will depend on these angles and their signs and degrees.

Square aspects force you into action and cause great disruption. They are impactful and create changes that perhaps you may not have been prepared for. Often due to the lengthy time that this square will be present in a chart, you may have had inclinations that major changes were on the horizon. Much will depend on how well you are in tune to Pluto’s energies. Some feel its energies 3-5° approaching and until about 2° past direct when the energies are dissipating. It usually takes a couple of years to understand what has unfolded and for life to settle into its new direction.

The beauty is that the square’s energies are challenging enough that we are forced into action because we want resolution due to discomfort. You may feel you are at the mercy of life with little control and other times you will know exactly what to do. There will likely be outside responses to what is unfolding because when the Ascendant is involved, things are out in the open. People will see what is transpiring and may also have an impact on what is taking place.

This will likely be a challenging time when the aspect becomes direct. However, it is important to realize that change, although disruptive, is what is needed. The time is ripe for it. In general when Pluto is transiting an angle or planet, transformations and regeneration often take place specific to the energies of the planet or houses involved. This can be forceful as there are usually no halfway measures when it comes to the energies of Pluto. When Pluto is involved it usually signals that an ending is approaching and something new is in the making. In many cases fighting the process can be quite futile and it is best to allow change to whatever no longer suits your evolutionary process.

This can be related to your occupation, (MC/6th house), your home environment (4th house), finances (2nd house and 8th if joint matters are concerned), partnership business and relationships (7th, 5th houses), etc.

Pluto can be rather dramatic and quite forceful causing ego disputes and in some cases violent action. Its objective is to place you in a situation where you can get to where you need to go.

Mars is all about action, taking the initiative and moving ahead with your objectives. Mars and Pluto do not make great companions as their energies are similar. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and its secondary ruler is Mars. Aries is ruled by Mars. However, when T Pluto makes a sextile to N Mars the energies can interlink and action is often indicated in a positive manner.

Opportunities are often a bi-product of this combination as sextiles imply growth, prospects and potential breaks that do not often reveal themselves. In many cases there are opportunities when it comes to sextiles aspects. It is always suggested that we take advantage of the energies in place and use them to our advantage. Sometimes things just seem to fall into place especially if the elements work well together (eg. fire and air although air can exhaust fire).

It is still likely that there may be some hurdles to overcome as at times we will need to fight for what we are trying to achieve. If there are other indicators in the chart that can cause some disruption then adversaries may be part of the picture especially if oppositions are part of the energies. The whole chart always needs to be studied to get the full potential of what lies in place.

The sex drive is also quite often enhanced during aspects with Mars and Pluto.

On April 6, 2023, @ 12:34 am EDT we will enjoy the energies of a Full Moon @ 16° Libra. Any individual with planets or angles within 3° either in conjunction, opposition and to a lesser degree square, trine and sextile to this placement will be touched by these energies.

During the Full Moon we reap what we sow. The seeds for this Full Moon were sown 6 months ago during the Libra New Moon. If we worked hard to nurture these seeds we will now reap the rewards.

Because the Full Moon is in Libra this may focus on important relationships. The desire for love and affection now runs high. This is not just for what our needs might be; it is also focused on what other may need. We may even put other people’s needs ahead of our own. For those with a strong emphasis in Aries this might be what is needed. For those with a strong Libra influence they may want to consider their own needs too. Balance is what is required currently.

Harmony and fairness are important factors. Too much emphasis on other peoples’ needs might sway matters at hand. Justice is important. Perhaps you need to be the judge on which way the pendulum swings under this influence.

Much will depend on the houses involved and the planets that are being affected as these relate to the areas of life being affected. Oppositions often include other people but in many cases they tend to rule what unfolds and may impose upon you. Conjunctions blend the energies of the planets involved and often suggest an intense period, reconciliation, alignment or perhaps making changes or starting over. Again, much depends on the planets involved, the angles affected and the natal potential in the birth chart. The birth chart tells the story, and this positioning adds to the flavor of the outcome.

Although Astrology points us in the appropriate direction, we make the decisions to act or sit back. Make this a memorable time in life by moving in the appropriate direction that most suits the moment.

One of our greatest follies is thinking we have unlimited time. “I’ll do this tomorrow, next time, whenever everything lines up perfectly”.

Our time on earth in this life is not unlimited although we should not worry about the passage of time. Live in this moment. It is invaluable. We are here to achieve what we need to and sitting back allowing time to halt our progress is a waste.

Patience is a valuable lesson but patience and procrastination are two very different practices.

We cannot force lessons but we certainly can have a hand in learning them.

“Living in the here and now” is a great motto.

Utilize this moment. It is yours! Live fully in this moment; no regrets!

Transiting Neptune currently (April 2023) resides at 25° Pisces. Allowing a 5° orb those with their Sun in Virgo between 20°-29° will currently have this influence in their charts. Neptune remains in Pisces until 2026 (moving in and out of Aries during this time).

Oppositions are known as challenging aspects and often involve other people. In many cases the other individual(s) involved are often the initiators of what unfolds. Neptune can cloud information and often when challenged suggests that things are not clear. Viewing things objectively and with foresight is often a prerequisite to getting life in order and understanding what is taking place. Much of course will depend on the areas of life involved, suggested by the house placements of T Neptune, your natal Sun and N Neptune.

The Sun (along with the nodal placement and other indicators in the chart) is our ambitions, inner self, goals, aspirations, and the path we are to take. It can also have something to do with our health but other challenges must be in place for this to have credence. With Sun is in Virgo much energy is directed towards service on some level. Part of life’s plan deals with putting things in order and creating a life that has responsibility, validation, direction, versatility. Sun in Virgo is to use these credentials to help create and organize life and assist in whatever way they can to help others formulate a path that has meaning and direction.

When the opposition is engaged, other people are challenging us with our objectives. They may be opposed to our decisions or want to take control and direct us, or we may have a difficult time understanding what it is that they are imposing on us. It may differ from our own personal intentions/aims in life. They may enforce or insist that we alter our plans to suit their objectives or to follow. This can cloud our reasoning and our ability to focus.

Sometimes it is wise to ask trusted friends for help in order to see things more clearly, but we need to be sure that those we ask are reliable and trustworthy. Things will clear but it may take time to really see the truth of what is unfolding especially when the energies are the strongest. As time passes and this aspect moves out of orb, we will get a much clearer understanding of what unfolded.

Neptune teaches us to be gentle. It teaches passivity and often opens doors to vision and clarity but often not until after the obstruction passes when in opposition. We learn from meditating on the experience and evaluate through genuine concern for others but also need to do what we need to do as we are important too. Neptune offers intuitive insight through feedback often from outside sources. Guidance is often found through intuitive understanding and in some cases spiritual persons. Pay particular attention as there can be unanticipated help that can assist you in uncovering the meaning and finding clarity.

To what extent will you allow the energies of today affect you?

Do other people seem to make you feel stress, anger, etc.?

We must recognize that although other people are involved in our lives it is our reaction to what they bring to the table that causes stress, anxiety, that creates dis-ease. We are not at the mercy of others although at times it certainly feels that way. We can pick up and move away from the situation or we can change our attitude towards the situation. Others do not create problems or worry; we do by allowing ourselves to be penetrated/influenced by their actions.

Worry and anxiety come from within. Others may not live up to our standards or expectations. We allow ourselves to think that others should act according to our expectations and when they do not, we worry and stress. We cannot control what others do or say and when we accept this our lives become more peaceful.

Don’t be led astray by the concept that other people have full reign over our calm or feelings of peace. We and only we have reign over this.

T Neptune will move very slowly through the chart staying about 17 years in each sign. Its effects are long lasting and if it moves into retrograde over an area in your chart its influence can be quite significant. Its influence is substantial if you choose to utilize it. It is the planet of illusion and can cause quite a lot of confusion especially while in the beginning phases of its influence and by opposition.

Things might be a little up in the air during Neptune’s visit and you may be unclear with which direction to take but over the long haul its lesson becomes clear although it often deals with what is considered intangible. Its boundaries are often very unclear but over time it opens the door to clear perception based on spiritual understanding or psychic insights. The door often opens as we begin our journey into the strange world of the “super”natural. Heightened intuition is often a by-product of this alignment with Neptune.

Mars has to do with drive and ambition and although Neptune dissolves or disenfranchises that which is considered tangible, the intention of Mars is to create activity and eventually align what has been off course or out of alignment (with Neptune’s influence). Because the opposition is often difficult and may involve other people there is a danger of mistrust or deceit being part of the picture. People can be dishonest.

Neptune tends to distort and Mars tends to push for answers and resolution. The time spent moving ahead (and pulling back because of worries or unclear perception) can be long lasting. It is important to get all the facts and see the truth behind what is taking place. Although you may get fed up with the duration of this transit and its challenging influence it is always best to adjust where and when needed. Again, intuition may become clearer and psychic perception becomes more reliable as time passes, but give it time. It takes a year or even two to really get the picture.

Outside assistance may be required. Seeking professional help can do wonders. Look closely at the houses involved in the aspect and the placement of N Neptune as this will provide further information on what to expect and what areas of life will be involved.

Belief structures create reality. Your attitude towards life is reflected in your surroundings. If you do not like what you see, you need to make change in your direction, either by changing circumstances in your life or by viewing your life from a different perspective.

Self-reflection is personal and does not reflect what others see. You create your concepts by believing in them and adhering to them. You make them your own, constructive or destructive.

You are not your mind; you are the one listening to the chatter.

Attitude and expectations decide what is to come. Focus is key to bringing more of whatever you believe and focus on into your life. The universe does not judge; you do the judging. You are simply provided with more of what you decide to focus on. If you look for beauty, you will find beauty; if you look for disappointment, you will find disappointment. It is like learning a new word. You never heard of the word before but once introduced to this word, you hear it used by others.

When transiting Neptune makes an opposition to your natal Mercury, it might be time to re-evaluate your thinking. Oppositions can be quite challenging and often involve other people being part of the energy.

Neptune while in challenging aspect often speaks of the need for clarity and seeing things as they truly are. This involves not allowing the imagination to run away with things. You might want to ask for others’ (trusted individuals) opinions as they may see things clearer than you at the moment.

Because Mercury has to do with reasoning and your mental agility and Neptune tends to fogy our interpretation at this time, you will want to rationalize the situation and try to make sense of what is transpiring. If you happen to have Saturn conjunct Mercury in the natal chart or in favourable aspect through transit this will help. Saturn brings clarity and assists in seeing beyond the veil of uncertainty from Neptune.

Do not be led astray by others and if this is a love situation make sure that you are not putting the other person on a pedestal as you might be disappointed once the fog lifts. Others can take advantage of your receptive energy at this time. They may be thinking of their needs and sway you by their charm.

Your intuition (not your heart) can be valuable at this time. You would do better to go with your gut rather than your mind. Intuition and psychic perception run stronger when T Neptune is involved even when it is in challenging aspect. Neptune, however, will color your imagination so be sure that what you feel is accurate and not some fantasy that you have made up in your mind. Sometimes professional guidance is what is needed.

This will be a learning period. You will need to adapt to what is real and in front of you rather than what we might wish to be there. Lessons come in all shapes and sizes. When the energy of this aspect passes some 2-3° past being direct, you can re-assess and know in a clearer manner which road to take. This energy is only temporary. Review your chart to calculate how long it might last.

It is not usual to come to crossroads. The new road can look difficult because we have not walked it before. It may even be frightening.

What once felt comfortable now may not be enough. Perhaps we or our partner has outgrown our relationship. Perhaps our career is no longer fulfilling or has become too stressful. Perhaps illness has changed our journey.

The first step is always difficult but have faith in what you are about to do. The unknown can be intimidating. Fear not your thoughts. Fear not the unknown.

You have the strength to overcome whatever awaits you. Do your due diligence and make an informed decision on your next step. Don’t be in a hurry. You have the answer but if you are unsure, ask for assistance. Ultimately, it is you that takes that step though.

Perhaps a change of attitude is all that is needed or perhaps a big change is necessary. Whatever is required, have faith and advance without any expectations, good or bad. Life pushes us where we need to go even when it may not look that way. You are at the helm particularly with your attitude. Allow and grow.
